Deviation Actions
Hi all,
I decided to add some new categories.
Two I mentioned previously to one of our contributors.
1. Critiques Desired. This folder is for songs you want members to weigh in on and perhaps give you advice or insight into. Commenters please be helpful and positive. Critique means giving your honest thoughts but not attacking the object of criticism. "This passage sucks!" is terrible critique. "This passage is off meter and needs better grammar." is great critique if a bit terse. Terseness is OK particularly if you can elaborate on request.
2. Adoration Please! This folder is for people who think their song is/can be awesome and want others to share them, sing them and or praise them. Collaborators, this folder is for you. Still a work in progress so feel free to suggest an expanded definition for the group.
In addition to these and the Songs and Featured categories I added 3 more.
3. Love Songs is for songs about you guessed it, love. Anything about love can go here. Please be sure and respect all maturity guidelines for the site (no overt sexual themes, cursing, etc, in pg deviations, please.)
4. Socially Conscious. Some of us have a penchant for writing political or socially topical songs and this is the place to toss them. Anything goes as long as it is honest and respectful to our members.
5. Word Smithery. Some of us are enamored with complex lyricism and obtuse poetic phrasing in our songs. Bring that stuff here.
If any of you can think of other categories you'd like available please post here.
The Songs category should be the default if you are unsure of where else to post something new. Featured is for items OTHER members have nominated by and large or songs I (or Cheesy) feel deserve a spot.
